Coke Studio releases Kashmir song
Srinagar: Coke Studio Pakistan on Wednesday finally released the much awaited Kashmir song on its official YouTube channel and Facebook page.
The song is lent voice by Anantnag born and Muzaffarabad based Radio Pakistan broadcaster, Altaf Mir.
Mir went to Pakistan for arms training during the early 90s when armed resistance was at its peak. His brother told The Witness Post that Mir left home to join militants during 90s and settled in Pakistan.
The lyrics of the song go: “Ha Gulo Tohi Ma Sa Wuchwan Yaar Meon”, and is based on the poetry of legendary Kashmiri poet late Ghulam Ahmad Mehjoor.
Coke Studio Explorer is featuring five sets of lesser-known musicians this year, each from a different region of Pakistan including Pakistan Aministered Kashmir.
